Well, I landed back in the Land O’ Lakes, Florida — land of OZ Monday morning at 12:30. Boy, missing air traffic controllers and flights turning around because the pilots were over their flight time — airlines changing gates at the last minute while passengers are running in every direction to avoid missing that flight.
I tell you…I’m more tired from all that than taking the flight. Which, by the way, was not a direct one. I vowed when God blessed me to touch down safely—if it’s not a direct flight—not happening. Fighting back jet lag, hoping our readers have a terrific Tuesday!
Today we observe Son and Daughter Day. Each year on August 11th, families across the country celebrate National Sons and Daughters Day. This is a wonderful occasion to recognize and appreciate the bonds we share with our children. Let your children know how grateful you are to have them in your life.
Listen to the stories of their day, share family memories, and take the time to discover their hopes and dreams. Learn what inspires them, encourage their passions, and teach them something new—while remaining open to the lessons they may have to teach you. And cherish the moments you have together.
On this 11th day of August, there are only 12 celebrations, including Chad Independence Day, Hip Hop Day, Ingersoll Day, Mountain Day, National Align Your Teeth Day, National Face Mask Day, and Presidential Joke Day.
For all the food connoisseurs, today’s festivities include: National Bakewell Tart Day, National Fufu Day, and National Raspberry Bombe Day.
On a somber note, today is also a day to acknowledge Death of Prophet Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad died on June 8, 632 CE (12 Rabi’ al-Awwal, 11 AH) at approximately 61–63 years of age in Medina. He passed away in the apartment of his wife Aisha after falling ill with a severe fever and head pain.
Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing us safely home and for the precious gift of family. Help us cherish our children and loved ones, appreciate every moment together, and trust You through life’s journeys. Bless our day with peace, joy, and gratitude. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
