Well, it’s that time of the week again. For those of us headed to school or work, just going into that maddening traffic on Monday…the beginning of the week, when everybody blames whatever goes wrong on the day of the week. Really? If Murphy’s Law is in effect, it has nothing to do with the day of the week—that’s just some stereotypical way of blaming whatever is going wrong on Monday.

It could be any day of the week that you can run into an assortment of issues. The key is working your way through as painlessly as possible. It’s all in your work ethic…You gotta have Kobe’s attitude. And since today is Kobe Bryant Day, in honor of this basketball legend, think about his work ethic as you apply it to your busy day.

While listening to the music, whether normal or strange, let’s not forget that today is also National SKAM Artist Day. Celebrated every August 24th. It honors Sujit Kundu, the founder and owner of the prominent global DJ and talent agency SKAM Artist. Created in 2020, the observance highlights the agency’s roster of DJs and music culture.

Speaking of culture, not just music…Today we also observe William Wilberforce Day. to celebrate the birth and legacy of the prominent British politician and abolitionist who led the parliamentary campaign to abolish the transatlantic slave trade. This day invites us to reflect on his tireless fight against the slave trade and renew our commitment to advancing human rights around the world.

Heavenly Father, as I face this busy Monday and all the challenges it may bring, give me strength, focus, patience, and a strong work ethic. Help me approach each task with determination and excellence, while trusting You to guide my steps. Like the discipline and perseverance we admire in great athletes, help me never give up when things get difficult. Keep my heart humble, my mind focused, and my actions guided by love, compassion, and a desire to make a positive difference in the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
