Thought of the Week: When God called Jeremiah, the young prophet felt small and unready. He cried out, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth”. He looked at his own weakness and lack of experience.

But God did not argue with Jeremiah’s assessment. He did not tell him to go take a public speaking class or build up his self-confidence. Instead, in Jeremiah 1:9, the text says: “Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, ‘Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.’”

Your calling does not depend on your natural talent. It depends on God’s touch.

When God asks you to do something hard—whether it is sharing your faith with a neighbor, speaking truth in a difficult room, or standing firm in a season of change—He does not leave you to figure it out alone. His assignment always comes with His provision. He gives you His wisdom, His courage, and the exact words you need for the moment.

Always remember, God does not call the prepared. No, He prepares the called.

Prayer: Lord, when I feel too weak or unqualified, remind me of Your touch. Take away my hesitation. Put Your words on my mind and on my lips, so that I speak Your truth and love to the world around me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
