Happy Monday! This is a day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! The same Lord who blessed us to see today is the same God who is also Jehovah Shalom — The Lord is Peace. So, despite the ongoing wars in the world today, let’s observe International Day of Peace, a United Nations-sanctioned holiday observed every year on September 21 to strengthen the ideals of peace and non-violence.
The United Nations calls for a 24-hour global ceasefire and pause in hostilities in active combat zones to allow humanitarian aid access. People around the world are encouraged to observe one minute of silence at noon in each time zone to create a shared “wave of peace.”
As we share in this wave of peace, this is one day that is inclusive of 27 celebrations today. That includes Escapology Day, Malta Independence Day, Miniature Golf Day, Respect for the Aged Day, Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week, Family Week, and World Reflexology Week. For the complete list, take a putt on our golf course.

Today is also Yom Kippur– which literally translates from Hebrew as the Day of Atonement and is the holiest, most solemn day of the year in Judaism. “Yom” means day, and “Kippur” means atonement or covering over of sins. It marks the final day of the Ten Days of Repentance (following Rosh Hashanah), when tradition says God seals each person’s verdict for the coming year.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this day and for Your gift of peace. Be with those who are hurting, guide our leaders, and bring an end to violence and war. Fill our hearts with Your love, grace, and peace, and help us be peacemakers wherever we go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
