Three more days and my Birthday will be here! Whoo! Every year that we get older do we sit back and think of what we’ve accomplished with the time God’s given us? I know I do? All the positive things you’ve contributed through time. Yes we all have ups and downs and that’s what cancels out the negative or looking from a different perspective — just like two batteries that are placed into any object to power it — two batteries are pointed in the positive but there is also a positive and negative connection which allows the flashlight to turn on.
And speaking of light. Today is National Energy Geek Day This is an annual observance celebrated on October 6 that honors the professionals who work to make homes and building more energy-efficient, health, and resilient. This day was established to acknowledge an often overlooked industry of technical specialist and building scientist enthusiasts who are passionate about home performance.
Now we only have 16 more celebrations to go…Some are Boat Racing Festival Laos, Honduras: Discovery of America Day, Mad Hatter Day, National Coaches Day, NATIONAL GERMAN-AMERICAN DAY, National Transfer Money to Your Daughter Day, and World Cerebral Palsy Day. For the complete list try on one of our hats.

On a more serious note, today is also Turkmenistan Earthquake Memorial Day. This day of rememberance, (Turkmen: Hatyra Guni) is an official holiday of Turkmenistan, commemorating those who were killed in the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake on 6 October 1948. It is one of two mourning days in Turkmenistan (the other being Memorial Day. It caused extreme damage and a high number of casualties in the city. Saparmurat Niyazov, who would later become the first President of Turkmenistan, was the only member of his family to survive the earthquake, which killed two of his brothers and as well as his mother.
🙏 Heavenly Father, thank You for another year of life and for every blessing, lesson, and opportunity You have given us. As my birthday draws near, help me continue to shine Your light, focus on the positive, and use each day to make a difference. Bless those who are celebrating, and comfort those who are remembering loved ones today. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️
