Well, today is another birthday! I won’t tell you how old I am. However, as I talk a walk down the annuls of time…I loved watching Captain Kangaroo, Walt Disney, Rin Tin Tin, Lassie, Popeye, Looney Tunes Cartoons, The Flinstones and The Jetsons just to name a few. Remember seeing man orbit and landed on it. Speaking of landings…I remember the British Invasion — The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

On the dark side I remember JFK Jr. saluting his father’s caisson as it passed by and RFK giving a tearful eulogy. I remember the riots following Dr. King‘s assassination. I remember seeing RFK’s assassination on television as Rosey Grier caught the assassin. I remember Watergate. I remember Nixon stepping down. Some of us know how to exit the stage gracefully, without being carried off. I remember Timothy MacVeigh’s terrorist attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Who could forget Vietnam? Anybody remember Enron?

But on a much happier note…I am so blessed to still be here and having being able to see all of my children grow up—-grandchildren going off to college and the Lord having his hand on our lives through all the sickness and diseases. It hasn’t always been rainbows, unicorns, and confetti, but the God that I serve has always been there for not just me, but all the members of my family and true friends.

To all of those born on this day I would like to say Happy Birthday! It is another milestone that God allowed us to see. We should be so ever grateful! No matter how many years, no matter how many tears…We are still here. And for many of us that is no small feat! Thank God for grace!

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of another birthday and for Your faithfulness through every joy, sorrow, and challenge. Thank You for family, friends, precious memories, and the strength to overcome life’s trials. May we never take Your blessings for granted, but continue to walk in Your grace, trusting You for the days ahead. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen. 🙏❤️
