One Time Only Gift

I was reading a friend’s blog post the other day and came across this saying… “Life doesn’t come with a rewind button – every moment is a one-time-only gift. So stop waiting for the perfect time and start living boldly, because the best moments are made when you press play.”

The mistake many of us make is always trying to prepare for the perfect time to come to Christ, take that trip we’ve always wanted to take, to make the ultimate commitment whether in a relationship or in ministry, or some life-altering decision that we’ve been planning for what seems a lifetime…The fact is that if we are blessed to see another day, that in itself is enough to be joyful about; that is the perfect time. We keep waiting for that perfect Kodak moment when that moment is right now.

We are eternal beings in a temporary shell or earthly tabernacle, as the apostle so eloquently puts it. (2 Corinthians 5:1-5 NKJV) Or we can recapture that statement and use the analogy of a rocket ship. That goes through many months of preparation, tests, calculation adjustments, and standard operating procedures, until it is placed on that launching pad one day, and on that day there is a countdown; then, at the number zero, it lifts off.

The question is, are we prepared to take that same leap of faith and launch into the purpose God has for our lives? We can spend so much time preparing for tomorrow that we fail to embrace the opportunities God has placed before us today. Just as that rocket ship was designed to do more than just sit on the launchpad, we were created for more than just simply existing. We have a purpose to fulfill, people to love, souls to reach, and a calling to walk out in faith.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” While there is wisdom in preparation and patience in waiting on God’s direction, we must be careful not to allow fear, doubt, or procrastination to keep us grounded when it is time to move forward.

Perhaps today is the day to surrender your life to Christ, reconcile a broken relationship, pursue that God-given dream, or simply tell someone how much they mean to you. Whatever it is, do not keep postponing what you can begin today.

Tomorrow is not promised, but today is a gift. We cannot rewind yesterday, and we cannot control tomorrow, but we can make the most of the moment God has placed before us. So trust Him, step out in faith, and embrace the life He has given you.

The countdown is on. Stop waiting for the perfect moment. Your moment is now. Press play!

Thank you so much for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Be and stay blessed!
