Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord! (Psalm 113:1 NKJV)

PSALM 113 IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Thought for the Week: True praise is not based on what our circumstances are; it is based on who He is. This text begins with a three-fold call to praise to help us remember that praise is not only our joyful duty, but our greatest duty as the servants of God. We don’t praise Him for what He has done for us but for who He is: Our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer! When we lift our eyes to behold the majesty of His name, the worries of today will be driven away by the wonder of His goodness. Shift our eyes today from worry to praise even just for a moment to whisper ‘thank you’ and He will be worthy of all your praise.

Prayer: Lord, I choose to praise Your name today. No matter what my circumstances look like, help me remember Your faithfulness, your goodness, and Your majesty. Teach me to live a life that honors You. Amen.
