But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. (Acts 4:19 NKJV)
ACTS 4 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought For The Week: In the confusion of this world we are continually presented with choices that challenge our faith. As Believers we must always remember that God Himself is the ultimate authority. In the text we find Peter and John facing a similar dilemma. The religious leaders of their time had commanded them to stop spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But instead of obeying their orders boldy proclaimed they had to obey God above all else.
When faced with that choice we too must choose God’s will in our lives even if it means going against other’s desires and opinions. We must trust that His plans for us are greater than any human’s agendas. This path may sometimes choose to be difficult but necessary nonetheless. When we follow God’s will, we align ourselves ourselves with His perfect plans for our lives.
Let us take inspiration from the example set by Peter and John. Let us also choose to put God’s will above all else and in so doing, not matter the challenges we face, we can trust in His guidance with an assurance He will guide us every step of the way.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we come before you today, in humility, asking for the courage to choose Your will in our lives. Please help us to trust in Your guidance, even when it goes against the opinions of others. Give us the strength and perserverance to follow your path, knowing that it leads to the best possible outcome for our lives. We thank You for Your love and guidance, and pray that You will continue to lead us on Your righteous path. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
