I have me a companion,
a Friend that is constant
someone who will come
to my aid in an instant.
Someone I can lean on,
a Friend who can soothe
someone who can make
a rough patch smooth.
Someone who will be,
right there along with me
a Friend who will help
the way for me to see.
Someone who is strong,
whenever I am weak
a Friend who brings me joy
when I am feeling bleak.
I have me a Helper,
a Friend I can rely on
for God has given me . . .
the Spirit of His Son!
