A Marriage Made In Heaven

“Just go back up to the clouds with the tooth fairies.”

Synopsis: Demetri Chicopoulos (Robert Krantz) is living a charmed life. He is the host of a hit daytime talk show, Daytime with Demetri. However, we soon learn that with a recent divorce and the passing of his mother, Demetri’s life is more painful than charmed. In a prayerful moment, Demetri kneels and asks God if he could just relive one week of his life. He knows things would turn out differently.

Can you imagine praying to God for a do-over of a monumental time in your life, and he sends a guardian angel with a “Yes” answer?

Well, that’s exactly what happened to Demetri Chicopoulos (Robert Krantz) when he asked to relive one pivotal week of his life that could shift everything back in his favor. This guardian angel (Tom Arnold) isn’t what we normally perceive one to look like, and he really has some unorthodox habits, but helps Demetri in the long run. Demetri tells him, when going to bed, “Just go back up to the clouds with the tooth fairies.”

The problem is that Demetri never sees his children or his wife (Elizabeth Rohm), and she is about to give up the one dream she’s always had since before they were married. Because she believes her job, as a mom, is to sacrifice for the family.

Demetri doesn’t have any kind of relationship with his family because of his job demands. He just doesn’t know how to say no to his producer, Patti Jensen (Vivica Fox), and there’s this weird guy who, when growing up, wanted to be a custard mogul, but Demetri kept shooing him away because he liked his daughter, not realizing the kind of family life this kid was having.

Will Demetri be able to recapture the missing moments of his life before his time runs out? Will his wife be able to fulfill her dream? Will the weird guy finally become a custard king? And who is this unorthodox guardian angel anyway?

We give A Marriage Made In Heaven

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This movie reminded me of Throwback Holiday—same premise, different scenario. This was a well-written script with veteran actors who carried their parts very well. And different storylines that were woven in made this a film full of unexpected surprises and answers. I think at some point in all our lives, we’ve all wished we could go back in time. Yet we all know that it is impossible to do. But this movie teaches us how important our relationships are with family, children, and, most importantly, God. And that the decisions we make because of our way of life can sometimes cost us the most priceless things we could ever possess. One being time. A good movie mix for family night with laughter, tears, and endings for us, eternal optimists.
