*Sunday’s Devotion

the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say:

“Praise the Lord of hosts,
For the Lord is good,
For His mercy endures forever”—

and of those who will bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,’ says the Lord. (Jeremiah 33:11 NKJV)

JEREMIAH 33 IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Thought For The Week: The verse describes the sounds of joy, gladness, and thanksgiving, including the voices of the bridegroom, bride, and those bringing offerings to the house of the LORD, giving thanks because “the LORD is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” It also includes God’s promise to restore the land’s fortunes.

This passage is set during a difficult time for Jeremiah and Jerusalem. Despite this, God offered a vision of joy in which the sounds of war would be replaced by celebration and thanksgiving, grounded in God’s unchanging nature and enduring love. The message of hope for today is that even in desolation, God promises restoration and can transform sorrow into joy. We are called to offer praise, trusting in God’s goodness and love.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being the God of restoration. In moments of desolation, help us recall your promises and replace despair with joy. Grant us the faith to offer you praise, trusting in your eternal goodness and steadfast love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
