A Christian Romance

The classic fairytale is brought to life, with a twist. Instead of Belle saving her father from the beast’s prison, she saves him from losing his job. While working in the house of Eric Landry (Matthew Reese), Mr. Watson (Arne Carter) accidentally breaks a priceless vase. For which Eric calls him an idiot, and threatens to call his job to request he be fired for that mistake. Belle (Summer Naomi Smart) goes to Eric in hopes of persuading him to change his mind. They finally reach an agreement. Belle will work as his administrative assistant until the debt is paid to his satisfaction.

Mr. Landry is noted for being very wealthy, ruthless, cold and calculating. In his hometown most refer to him as “the Beast.” The part of Gaston is played by Craig (Everest Bishop) whose interest in Belle is quite creepy and demented. He was introduced to her through Anna (Lindsay Bird) her best friend; as he is her cousin. But, in his personality you can see something is really off.

Belle begins to dig deeper into Eric’s past, finding the reason he is so bitter and why he turned his back on God. Through working together and other series of events, Belle and Eric form a bond that is deeper than either thought possible. And just like in the original film, Craig tried to thwart this relationship after Belle closed the curtain on any hope of their being romantically linked. She tells Craig, “just not interested in you like that.” Without giving up the spoiler, can tell you that after the jig is up; Craig is left, literally, on his butt.

This film is all about the redemptive power of God’s love. This love came through an angel, who may not have had wings, but led a cold, heartless sinner back to God. And in so doing, found the perfect love for herself. Your story may not turn out the way theirs did. But if you can see yourself in any part of this film; it will truly shed light on some hurting and confused places in your life—showing it’s not too late for a turnaround. Belle and the Beast is also a very good character builder.
