Thought for the Week: The scriptural implication is, that by merely hearing the word and not doing it, they deceive their own souls. The deception: they imagined hearing the word was the only requirement, whereas the main thing was they should be obedient. We must not disregard the influence the word can have on our lives nor its claims to obedience. Instead, it is vital we receive the word by faith into our hearts and bring forth the fruit of it in our lives.
Prayer: Father, please give me a great desire to know and obey Your Word. Please help me to read it and meditate on it constantly. And please help me to apply it in every aspect of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
