It is said that laughter is good medicine for the soul. And as writers, from time to time we need a little laughter to sweep out the cobwebs in our minds so we can begin to flow down the river of ideas that have yet to be thought. Sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying when we can’t make that last chapter work after the fifteenth time. Let’s see what some authors have to say about this writing conundrum…
- I get a lot of letters from people. They say: “I want to be a writer. What should I do?” I tell them to stop writing to me and get on with it, – Ruth Rendell

2. If Moses were alive today he’d come down from the mountain with the Ten Commandments and spend the next five years trying to get them published. – Anonymous

3. Writing is easy. All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead.–– Gene Fowler

4. Asking a working writer what he thinks about critics is like asking a lamppost how it feels about dogs.–– Christopher Hampton

5. I am a writer. If I seem cold, it ‘s because I am surrounded by drafts.–– (Unknown Author)
