The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1 NKJV)
Thought for the Week: We must always remember God is our source of light—who leads and guides us. When the darkness of distress, troubles, perplexities and sorrow tries to block our eyes of faith, God furnishes us such light that these troubles dissipate, and our way is happy and bright. In this He saves and delivers us. With God on our side, He is more than able to protect us, and we may place total trust in Him. We need no better security against fear or dread than knowing God is our friend. He is our life support. Alone, He keeps us alive. And as long as He is this strength, we have nothing to fear. No one has the power or authority to take our lives as long as God defends us. For those who trust Him—God is our secret place, stonghold, our fortress. In Him we are safe.
Prayer: Lord God, let me never forget all that you do for me on a daily basis. Sustain me with the hope of my salvation and the other countless blessings you provide with your continuous presence in my life. Lead me to live my life in testimony to your incredible blessings, that your love may be known and experienced by all those I serve, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
