Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13 NKJV)
Ephesians 6 in its entirety.
Thought for the Week: The beginning of this military metaphor has us preparing for battle. We must always be prepared for unexpected assaults from evil. Our entire lives as believers is one of continual warfare—not a tiptoe through the tulips. And we must be reminded that in this warfare there are seasons of exceptional danger. This “evil day” to which the Apostle Paul ascribes is the exceptional assaults on our moral and spiritual character. These “evil days” come without any sirens or warning sounds. Therefore we must have weapons of divine temper—our armor can only come from God. Whereby we are spiritually equipped to withstand the “evil day’; by having a resound stance that will allow us to keep our footing from the onslaught of the battle and defeating the charge by the resonance of the power of God through His word. Thus allowing us to take a stronger stance readying us for the next attack that will come on the morrow.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the courage to stand against the enemy today. I put on the armor of God: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the sandals of the gospel of peace, the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and the shield of faith. Thank You for the promise that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Amen🙏🏻
