“There’s only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is though everything is a miracle.”
Synopsis: In parallel love stories, the lives of college student Chris (Jacob Elord) and wealthy businessman Jorge (Adan Canto) intersect in a profound twist of fate. Intersect in a way no one could have ever expected…
Based on a true story; 2 Hearts begins before Chris Gregory is even born, with another child in a different part of the world, Jorge Bolivar. And for Jorge, the doctors tell his parents he probably won’t live to see twenty. As Jorge grew, he took every day as it came as borrowed time.
Chris didn’t get accepted by his brother’s college but was accepted by Loyola. His dream dashed he was melancholy in spirit. Yet his mother reminded him that when things don’t work out the way we want them to there’s always a reason.
On the other side of the world, thirty-year-old Jorge is taking an airplane trip and convinces the airline stewardess to hold his hand during take-off to help him breathe better. And in the conversation tells the stewardess he didn’t have any time to waste.
As Chris sits in class he meets his future sweetheart, Samantha, while Jorge is sitting in a board meeting with his father and brother—Jorge claims he’s found the future Mrs. Jorge Boliva. Both men are searching for the love of their lives and both are being reprimanded by their fathers. One for bringing poor grades home with an outrageous cellphone bill and the other for traipsing all over the world loving someone outside his race. One proposes and the other supposes he’ll do better in school now that he finally got a driver’s license and his relationship and education seem to be under control. Both young men find unconditional love in the most beautiful people.
While expressing his happiness and future prospects Chris passes out and is in a coma where the doctor tells the family he had an aneurysm in the front of his brain that is bleeding—seemingly he awakes out of the coma, but Jorge is given a death sentence.
Jorge marries Leslie and Chris marries Sam. Chris and Sam are now expecting their first child while Jorge and his wife cannot have children.
Offered a second chance at life—Jorge’s wife convinces him to go for a lung transplant. While Chris gets a promotion.
Was all this a dream? Did all of this really happen? Will Jorge survive the lung transplant? You will just have to watch the movie to find out.

We give 2 Hearts
With this thought-provoking storyline, you will surely end up going down the rabbit hole one way or the other. Once you start watching this film the two men’s stories draw you in and you’re thinking it’s just the usual film, but if you have to leave the room you better have a pause button because this is one of those films if you miss any part of it you won’t understand the totality of it. Surprisingly you are so engaged in the narrative between their two worlds that there is no predictability to be found in this film and the ending will leave you feeling like a deer in headlights but in a good way.
The takeaway for me from 2 Hearts is in its overall message: How precious life is and the importance of unconditional love and our service to humanity.
