What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? (Romans 6:1 NKJV)
ROMANS 6 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought for the Week: The apostle is quite insistent on emphasizing the necessity of holiness. And yet he does not dispose of the free grace of the good news. But he is prudent in exemplifying the connection between justification and holiness as being inseparable. How backward is the thought to continue in sin that grace may abound? The grace of God is not a free pass to sin. It is GRACE, an undeserved gift that God gives freely. True believers are dead to sin, therefore they shouldn’t follow it. No man can simultaneously be dead and alive. How foolish is the one who, desiring to be dead to sin, thinks he can live in it—His logic could not possibly be any more backward than that.
Prayer: Heavenly Father: Thank You for Your boundless grace. Help me not to take advantage of this free and precious gift. You have delivered me from my sin and covered me with Your grace. For this, I am so grateful. In your precious Son’s name. Amen.
Yes it is. Amen. Thanks for stopping by.
