As my readers know, we always manage to take the roads less traveled. So this week we took the side street into Tubi to see their Christian Films. Everyone else has given Netflix lists. However, we think viewers should have more options. (Click on the pic to see the trailer.)

Jesus of Nazareth – Acclaimed director Franco Zeffirelli and an all-star cast come together to deliver a powerful adaptation of the Gospels in 1977’s Jesus Of Nazareth. An Encounter with the Messiah is a modern-day inspirational story about Jesus. It features three missions that originated in the Bible, namely the narrative of Blind Bartimaeus (called “Bart” in the film), the woman with the issue of blood, and Jesus’ interactions with Barabbas. This film focuses on the healing and life-changing power of Jesus. 84 min | 2015

In His Steps shows what happens when a homeless man interrupts the comfortable routine of the First Church of Raymond, life will never be the same for the apathetic congregation. Saint Peter, was a reluctant but passionate leader, from the crucifixion of Jesus to his own. In the second half, an aged Peter goes to Rome to join Paul, arriving on the day of Paul’s arrest. 197 min|2005|PG-13.

2nd Greatest is based on incredible true stories set in the backdrop of beautiful Golden, Colorado. A pastor, a homeless drunk, and a police officer must discover a way to reunite a lost community and stop a pompous and wealthy real-estate developer before he shuts down a low-income trailer park. It’s an inspirational film about loving your neighbor, forgiveness, redemption, and the power of community. 127 min|2017

Seven Deadly Words is a movie about Egypt Valley Church being out of funds and out of touch with the community. So, pastor, Evan Bennett sets out to change things for the better.   1. Thanks for the recommendations! I will have to check out Tubi. Yesterday I looked up a movie recommended by another blogger and found it on Amazon Prime. That opened up a whole treasure-trove of faith-based movies I had never seen or heard of before, mostly about great Christians like Dietrich Bonhoffer and Corrie Ten Boom. I added about 22 of them to my watch list!

  2. Many thanks, c.f. leach, for this treasure list of faith-based movies. Now I have a new project. At the 55+ apartment building where I live, we have a large media room to watch movies, shoot pool and play cards, but we can only get Netflix on the big screen. I’m going to make an effort to convince management to subscribe to Tubi and Amazon Prime. Thanks for the heads-up.
