The reality is life isn’t like Burger King—You can’t “have it your way” all the time. I believe it was John Lennon who said “ Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” And sometimes the more life gets in the way of our plans the more we get buried beneath discouragement and disappointment that the very weight alone makes us feel alone. It’s as if you need a bulldozer to dig you out. It is here you must ask God to strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. (Isaiah 35:3) If the weight of these troubles has you crawling on your knees perhaps you need to change your stance to that of a prayer position. Because when you fall on your knees in faith that is the place where the battle is won.

Father in Heaven, I come before you with a heart weighed down by disappointments. Life hasn’t turned out like I expected. I feel let down, like I’ve been failed in some way. I don’t know what to do with these disappointments.  Help me Father to have an eternal perspective. Help me to see my disappointments in light of what Jesus purchased for me at the cross. Help me to seize those disappointments as opportunities to draw closer to you and not away from you. Help me to learn from them. Help them to shape me more and more into the image of your Son. Help me to see Jesus in them and to see his love and grace for me. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Prayer by Christina Fox.

May the Lord Bless and keep you through all of your trials as He has promised. “So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) Blessings and Peace!

    • Amen. We must look at our circumstances through the eyes of faith. It has to be a divine perspective or we’ll end up walking in the wrong direction! Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed week!

  1. Can’t list the amount disappointments I have faced, and most times I feel so close to tears, sometimes I break down and cry, but at the end of it, I find the strength to stand up and keep moving because I know the God I serve and he is always by my side. That song is great too.

    • I’m right there with you. Sometimes I feel like I’m swimming in a sea of disappointments, but when I think about Peter I began to walk on the disappointments instead of letting them drown me. When he said “Lord save me” Jesus was right there. That song is so inspiring. Blessings and Peace!
