I love this verse, because it says so much. “Wages” are what we’ve “earned.” A gift is unearned. It’s sad how many people are trying to earn their way to heaven. Can’t be done. 😥

That word “wages” in the same sentence as “death” makes me glad I’m not employed. But it also makes me very grateful for the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
