Part 1

According to the Old Testament, a gatekeeper was a Levite. Gatekeepers were also watchmen on the walls. They were ministering priests from the tribe of Levi. Gatekeepers were trusted officials and high priests in the servant role of protecting the Lord’s house.
If you have been around the church for any period of time; you are familiar with the terms ear gate and eye gate. You are taught to guard those two gates with all diligence. And are also taught to watch what comes out of your mouth. Simply said, to guard your words.
Therefore, you are an ambassador of Christ in the role of a servant protecting the Lord’s house. And in this context the Lord’s house is referring to 2 Corinthians 5:1 – For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. This earthly tabernacle was built by God and belongs to him. (Genesis 2:7)
This is how you become a gatekeeper.

You must be a watchman of your ear gate, eye gate, and the words proceeding out of your mouth. This is how you become a gatekeeper. You guard your ear gates by watching what you allow in your hearing because it will resonate and record onto your spirit man. You must remember faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (2nd Corinthians 5:17)
What you hear, repetitiously can either…..
You receive information through your ear gate and you must be careful what you allow to pass through it. What you hear, repetitiously, can either build up your faith for a miracle or prevent the miracle from ever being developed. I remember some years ago I needed a car and didn’t have the money to buy one. All year long I kept saying “I am going to get a Jeep.” I was driving my boss crazy with it because I hadn’t been on the job long enough to save the money for a down payment. But I kept reading God’s word, praying, and speaking “I am going to get a Jeep.” Even when others thought it impossible I kept speaking the word about my jeep. I could, literally see it—the color, make, and model.

Before finally getting up enough nerve to go to the Mercedes Benz used car lot; with one of my prayer partners we prayed as touching and agreeing. Later that afternoon I walked up to the lot. Sight unseen, the Jeep I envisioned was there on the front row and the salesman came out of his trailer and said these words. “I’ve been waiting for you.” Immediately told him, “I have no down payment and my credit is not that great.” His reply was, “Did I ask for a down payment?” He said, “Do you have anything you can trade in?” “A tank, a bicycle, moped—anything?” All I had was an old Chevy my daughter gave me that didn’t run and was covered with leaves. He had it towed and gave me $1500 for a down payment. After filling out the paperwork I drove down the street with tears in my eyes thanking God for my miracle.!
Some people never hear themselves speak.
The point is I was hearing what I spoke until it became etched in my spirit. Some people never hear themselves speak. Which is a fatal flaw. The word of God says speak those things that be not as though they were. (Romans 4:17) Because God creates new things out of nothing through our confessions of faith. Now faith is theĀ substance of things hoped for, theĀ evidenceĀ of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
