I found this prayer in a book I am reading which I will be giving a review of shortly. When I read this prayer it gave me hope and inspiration and my prayer is that it will do the same for you. No matter how long we’ve walked this path or proclaimed our belief there comes a time in all our lives that we need encouragement on one level or another. Some of us have been fighting the same battle for not just days, but years. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. (Proverbs 13:12 NKJV) For those of you out there that are in what seems like a neverending battle, I pray your hope is not deferred and your desires come…

Father, I pray and I believe You for great breakthrough so that I will not experience deferred hope—so that my heart will not be sick, and I will not be depressed, discourage, frustrated, ready to give up, suicidal, heavy, or sad. I decree that I will eat from the tree of life, that my desires will come and they will be like a tree of life for me.

Father, I decree that my hope will manifest and the tree of life will be my portion. I decree that delay will be broken and denial will not be my portion. I come against the spirits of denial, delay, obstruction, blockage, resistance, and demonic interference that would come to hinder my dreams, visions, and hopes. I pray that the angels of God would come on my behalf as they did for Daniel and break through for me so that I will receive the answers to my prayers.

Lord, as I believe You for financial health; spiritual, mental, and emotional health; my relationships, business or ministry. I pray that this will be a season of restoration and fulfillment, that I will not only have hope but that I will abound in hope. I will not be hopeless or given over to disappointment. I will not be overcome by despair and discouragement. Instead, I will be full of hope. I will be strong in faith. I decree this and believe it now. In Jesus’ name, amen.

  1. This prayer is fine as far as it goes, but it borders on “prosperity gospel” territory, as though if we have enough or proper faith, God will grant us pleasant times and success as well as relief from any bad events.
BUT, “God did not keep bad things from happening to God himself and there is no darkness into which he has not descended. He knows the texture and taste of everything I most fear.” (Tish Harrison Warren, Prayer in the Night)
We may be called to suffer for the Name, and we should rejoice if we are counted worthy to do so.
