Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;

  1. I rarely pray like this anymore, because the Lord promised He would NEVER leave me or forsake me. My prayers are more just thanking Him for keeping His promises. I realize that Psalms are frequently about feelings, and we may FEEL abandoned sometimes, but thanking Him (out loud!) and quoting His promises do a lot for me to steady me when my emotions want to throw me off.
