Last week we went over the first six points of this twelve-point blog post. They were 1) If You Want This To Be Your Year: Don’t Sit On The Couch. 2) Make A Change. 3) Smile More. 4) Be Excited. 5) Do New Things and 6) Throw Away Clutter… Here are the last six.

UNFOLLOW NEGATIVE PEOPLE ON SOCIAL MEDIA. Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”  (1 Corinthians 15:33) Make no friendship with an angry man, And with a furious man do not go, Lest you learn his ways And set a snare for your soul. (Proverbs 22:24-25) If we are to follow anyone let us follow Christ. (Philippians 2:5-11) Because no matter how many followers you do or do not have will it matter if you yourself are lost?

An early approach does lead to wisdom.

GO TO BED EARLY. “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise,” is credited to Benjamin Franklin, though it was a saying before he was born. Mark Twain, who thought that rising before 9:30 was a terrible evil, ridiculed Ben’s proverb. But God and Solomon had given the inspired rules 3000 years before. An early approach does lead to wisdom (Pr 8:17).

DON’T GOSSIP. And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not. (I Timothy 5:13) Although Paul is referring to rebellious young widows who had thrown away their faith because they could not wait on God to supply them with husbands. What if we threw our faith away because we could not wait on God to supply us with what we need? Would we fall into the throes of that same gossiping and busybody example?

When we look around and realize…

SHOW MORE GRATITUDE. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (I Thessalonians 5:16-18) Have you ever just taken the time to look around when you are in your home and just begun to thank God for what you do have? I talk about that in an earlier blog post Just One More Praise. When we look around and realize how many things we’ve been blessed with it gives us a different perspective on life as a whole and on God exponentially.

DO THINGS THAT CHALLENGE YOU. Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13:5) Stop procrastinating or sitting on the fence of doubt. You can’t be lukewarm and an overcomer. You have to be all in one way or the other. If you truly believe that Christ is in you then stop running from what looks like an obstacle and run to that opportunity. Remember what Jesus said “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Be like David, when he had to face Goliath

BE BRAVE. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Be like David, when he had to face Goliath—Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.  This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” (I Samuel 17:45-46)

These twelve points are all pointing in the same direction—to God and to His word. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delights in his ways. You see my friend, true faith is not knowing what your future holds. But knowing Who holds your future! And you don’t need crystals or tarot cards to know that!

May the Blessings of the LORD be with you today and always. Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
