My knight in shining armor
came not in armor you could see
He wore a stunning white suit
and looked phenomenal to me
With a gleam in his eyes
and a beautiful smile
How was I to know
we’d last for awhile?
“No longer than the seven years”
my mother once said
Against all odds
we kept sailing ahead…
Over the seas of life
our ship was sometimes tossed
But with him at the helm
we were never lost
When the winds would blow
though the compass spun
We were held safely
by the hands of the Holy One
Until finally one day
when our ship came ashore
Then my knight—the angel…
was no more.
