Sometimes with all of the hustle and bustle that life hands us, as children of God we must be careful not to lend to religious exercises that are of no value. Not purposely, distraction can be so subtle so we must remember the text Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? And if we begin to feel a certain disconnect from our Father albeit we pray and study the word consecration will give us the reconnection we yearn. (1 Corinthians 6:19 NKJV) The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines Consecration—To consecrate yourself is to answer God’s call to spiritual consecration. This means making a conscious, willing decision to dedicate your soul, mind, heart, and body to God. For I am the LORD your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. (Leviticus 11:44 NKJV)
Father, I present my body to Jesus Christ as a living sacrifice; I present the members of my body to Jesus Christ as instruments of righteousness. My body has been bought with the blood of Jesus Christ and it belongs to him. My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. I renounce every way I have misused and abused my body; I bring all those acts under the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. I rededicate my body and all its parts to the loving rule of Jesus Christ; I dedicate and consecrate my body to him in every way. I ask for the blood of Christ to cleanse my body and make it holy once more. Holy Spirit, come and fill my temple now; restore my body under the complete dominion of Jesus Christ. In His holy name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer from Wild at Heart.
Yes, Amen! Amen! Glory to Jesus!
