For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV)
JEREMIAH 29 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought For The Week: God invites us to call upon Him and pray. Prayer is our direct line of communication with Him. When we pour out our hearts to Him, He listens. Through prayer, we can seek His guidance and wisdom. Finding God’s plan requires a wholehearted pursuit. It’s not a half-hearted search, but a dedicated effort to seek Him with everything we have. As we seek Him, we will find Him. He will reveal His plan to us and guide us on the right path.
Prayer: Heavenly Father: Thank You for Your thoughts of peace toward me. I come before you today seeking Your guidance and wisdom. I surrender my plans and desires to You, knowing that Your plan for my life is greater than anything I could imagine. Help me to trust in Your leading and to seek You with all my heart. I believe that as I call upon You and pray You will listen and guide me. Please open my ears to hear Your voice and give me the courage to follow Your plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Of late, Father is impressing on me a grievous word, Jeremiah 7:16, 11:14 and 14:11.
It is hard to give up praying for my country, but I believe its destiny is as sealed as Israel’s was when the weeping prophet wrote chapter 29.
The Jeremiah 29 passage was the introduction to 70 YEARS of captivity. We must keep this in mind when we exegete Scripture.
