Prayer Against Self-Righteousness

Gracious Father, I come before You acknowledging that pride can quietly take root in my heart. Forgive me for the times I have trusted in my own goodness, looked down on others, or compared myself to them. Remind me that every good thing I have is a gift from Your hand and that I stand before You only by Your grace.

Please give me a humble spirit. Help me to see my own faults before I focus on the faults of others. Teach me to extend the same mercy, patience, and compassion that You have shown to me. Keep me from seeking praise, recognition, or a sense of superiority. Lord, make me more like Christ—gentle, lowly in heart, and full of love. Let my confidence rest not in my righteousness but in Yours. May I walk in humility, gratitude, and dependence on You each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
