Guest Poet Ralph Woodbury
I ran from You as just a child; You never did let go.
I became an outcast. With pain no one could know.
Oh, the love You showed me, while I was blaming You.
I should’ve went to hell, but You made all things new.
I wouldn’t even look Your way, sheltered in Your arms.
I didn’t know You carried me, and kept me from all harm.
I couldn’t really blame You, LORD; I thought You hated me.
You picked me up with so much love that day on Calvary.
I was a broken shell that day; You were drawing near.
I fell beneath a broken cross, and You saved every fear.
I knew somehow that You loved me. We walked out of the tomb.
I was a brand new man, and how the flowers bloomed.
I mixed in religion; in bondage I did go.
I put my faith back in the blood; the crimson river flowed.
