We’ve all had our moments when we felt like hamsters running on that stupid wheel. No matter how fast our pace the wheel just kept spinning and we went nowhere. Living in Hamsterville did not accomplish one single thing. But the side effects were disappointment, frustration and added anxiety.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Fight all your battles on your knees
You are standing in a dry place. A dry place may not necessarily exemplify a geographical location. But can denote a random space anywhere between here and there—You know, the far side of nowhere? Here we find ourselves void of any successful attempts in coming out of whatever unpleasant predicaments we find ourselves. The word of God teaches us when we’ve done all just stand. But how do you stand feeling fragile as a toothpick—if one more bad wind of discouragement comes by it will surely blow you over? The best position to fight from when you can no longer stand is on your knees where the spirit of God stands up and fights for you. But you say, “I did pray, and nothing happened.” But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:6-8)
Now you are halt between two opinions.
You are so tired of that cubicle you want to pull your hair out by the roots. No matter how many resumes you send, job interviews or job fairs you attend; nothing seems to pan out. You decide to try riding the bicycle of entrepreneurship, but the training wheels keep falling off. Now you are halt between two opinions. Straddling the Fence of Doubt as you wander into Wonderland. I wonder if I should do this…I wonder if I should do that…Before you know it procrastination has become your companion; taking you further away from your destiny instead of leading you to it. You are in a dry place. Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, (Acts 3:19)
Relationship after relationship you keep seeing mirages but never find your true oasis. Whether they are your garden variety friendships or hybrid orchids of love. The egg keeps coming back at your face. And while you have now acquired a youthful appearance on the outside, inside you are dried up from the many betrayals and thirsty for a fountain of the real thing. You are still in the desert of your dreams “And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. (Isaiah 58:11)
May the Blessings of the LORD be with you today and always. Thank you for your continued readership and support. Stay tuned for Part 2. Until next week….Blessings and Peace!
