For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4 NKJV)
ROMANS 15 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought for the Week: Having a bearing upon us by the promises and consolations of the Holy Scriptures; we are supported under our trials thus enabling us to endure them not only patiently but with good cheer. The promises of Scripture are rooted in the hope of glory in the coming of the Messiah. and the courage with which the Christian endures his trials is to be sustained by that hope, Therefore, we are armed with patience and finished in these consolations which God gives us by the scriptural examples of how He walked with our forefathers through such trials and they came out on the other side victorious.
Prayer: Almighty God, who has given me the wish to do right and helped me to do your service, strengthen me to persevere. Give me the endurance to serve you, and perform my duties. When I am weary in well-doing, remind me that the ways of sin are pathways to destruction. Do not let me, in a moment of weakness, lose all that I have gained. In the darkness of discouragement, give me the light of your presence. Help me to endure. You have said that whoever endures to the end, shall be saved. Do not let me fall from your grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
