Darkness ascended during the day
A terrible threat was on its way…
Helene, a vast and deadly storm encroached upon our land
Yet God held us by the power of His mighty hand
Houses and things lost in floods that abound
Yet Your neverending love was all around
Deadly winds and rains came our way
Yet we are here to see a brand new day
This hurricane danced upon our shores
And now that formidable foe is no more
Thank You Father for You never sleep
And in Your precious arms You forever keep…
Your children safe from all harm and hurt
For Your eyes are always on alert
And are able to see distances ahead
Thats why we must always trust, pray and never be afraid.

Wondering where in Florida you are? Friends in Tampa and Orlando all fared well, but we know from the news many that did not. Keeping all you Floridians in my prayers as you recover.

I am 26 miles northwest of Tampa — a hop, skip and a jump from New Port Richey and Springhill. Yes, I was blessed to wake up with only a few limb and leaves in my yard, but I had friends in St. Pete and Clearwater that weren’t so fortunate. This poem is a homage to all those who saw devastation after the storm. Thank you for your comments. And we are keeping those Floridians also in our prayeres. Blessings and Peace!

Thank you so much Peggy. This prayer is dedicated to the many Floridians who saw damages and loss. I was very fortunate to not had any issues. When I woke up the next day there were some limbs and leaves all over the place but no major damage. We were blessed to have lights and water. But many lost everything and have not electricity or lights. So we really need to keep those unfortunate souls in prayer. Thank you so much for stopping by but most expressly thank you for your prayers. Be and stay blessed!
