I was down in my laboratory this beautiful Tuesday morning, formerly known as my kitchen, trying to put together a recipe for Sunday’s Writing Tips topic. As I began mixing some of the ingredients, I came up with the title. And when sitting down at my trusty keyboard — here is the summation…
Some while ago, had to take a step back from a series of things. Because when you are right in the thick of things, you cannot always see what needs to be said.

Although I was steadily going here and going there, my home base was in shambles. And no matter how hard I tried to pick up and clean up, I could never accomplish the things that needed to be done—countless books, movie scripts, and marketing projects. I began feeling like a robot instead of a Christian tot. (Matthew 18:2-4 NKJV) Just an empty shell walking around—while my spiritual hard drive was slowly being wiped clean.
What needs to be seen? God’s creative norm is all things—or as the scripture says...“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” (Revelation 4:11 NKJV)
We are all created beings by a creative God. Then I began connecting the dots…clutter equaled confusion, lack of energy, and focus. Cleanliness is next to Godliness may not be a true scripture, but in this case, it is applicable here.

I thank God for my goddaughter, Christina, who volunteered to come by and helped with clean up. When she showed up, she told me to sit down and rest. I felt like the kryptonite was finally being taken away. The cobwebs were cleaned out of my mind, and the creativity began seeping back in. My thought processes are no longer being blocked by useless rhetoric. Also, my strength came back. And the rooms I was able to start cleaning up as I was getting new subjects to put into my site, and wrap up my latest book, even gave me new perspective!
The moral to this story is…

Never allow busyness to dictate the condition of your spirit, your home, or your peace of mind. Sometimes we become so occupied with trying to conquer the world that we neglect the very place where God speaks to us the most. A cluttered atmosphere can eventually create a cluttered soul.
There comes a time when we must pause, regroup, and allow God to restore order both around us and within us. Because once the confusion is removed, clarity can finally enter the room. And when clarity enters, creativity follows.

Now that you’ve got some more creative energy…Writers start your engines…And get back to punching those darn keys! Always remember to stay in your lane. Do your level best and let God do the rest! Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
