To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
O my God, I trust in You;
Let me not be ashamed;
Let not my enemies triumph over me
. (Psalm 25:1-2 NKJV)

PSALM 25 IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Thought For The Week: In the opening verses of Psalm 25, David shows us a completely different approach. He doesn’t pretend to have it all together. Instead, he boldly declares, “To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.” Think of this as holding out your trembling, weary heart on open palms and saying, “Here I am, Lord. I am entirely yours.”

Lifting up your soul to God is the ultimate act of surrender. It is acknowledging that you were never meant to carry your burdens alone.

When David adds, “O my God, I trust in you,” he is bridging the gap between admitting his weakness and claiming God’s strength. He immediately asks for protection: “let me not be ashamed.” We all face moments where we fear failure, worry about what others might say, or fear that our circumstances will defeat us. But here the psalmist reminds us that turning to God in total reliance breaks the power of shame. God does not let those who anchor their hope in Him go to waste.

When you feel lost or attacked today, remember that you don’t have to bear the weight of the world on your own shoulders. Take a deep breath, release your anxieties to heaven, and let His unshakeable presence become your secure foundation.

Prayer: Lord, I lift my soul to You today. I acknowledge my limitations, but I also choose to place my complete trust in You. Protect my heart from shame, guide my steps, and remind me that You are my shield. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

When life feels overwhelming, or we find ourselves cornered by our struggles (our personal “enemies”), our default human instinct is often to panic, hide, or try fighting the battles on our own. Here, David reminds us to simply surrender it all to the Lord.
