Hebrews 10: 24-26 reads…And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. I want to address Hebrews 10:25 — not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. So the question I would like to pose to my faithful readers is…”Why do you go to Church?
Is it simply because that is what you have always done? Is it because your family expects you to be there? Do you go because you enjoy the music, the fellowship, or the message? Or do you go because you recognize that gathering together with other believers is an important part of your walk with Christ?
Church was never intended to be merely a place we visit once a week. It is a place where we encourage one another, bear one another’s burdens, worship together, learn God’s Word, and stir one another toward “love and good works.”

Notice that the passage says, “let us consider one another.” That means church is not only about what I can receive, but also about what I can give. Someone may need the encouragement God has given me. Someone may need a listening ear, a prayer, a kind word, or just to know that they are not walking through life alone.
We live in a time when it is easier than ever to stay home. We can watch a sermon online, listen to worship music from our living rooms, and communicate with others without ever leaving the house. Those things can be valuable, especially when circumstances prevent us from gathering. But they cannot fully replace the fellowship and mutual encouragement that come from being together.
Paul, the writer of Hebrews, reminds us that we should gather “so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” In other words, the closer we get to Christ’s return, the more—not less—we need one another.
So, why do you go to church?
I pray your answer is more than, “Because I’m supposed to.”
Perhaps the better answer is: “I go because I need God, I need His people, and someone else may need me.”
Thank you so much for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Be and stay blessed!
