You are welcome. Since my husband's passing I'd gotten behind in my movie and book reviews. But if you stick…
The other morning I was watching another rendition of Bruce Lee’s life. This film walked more on the side of how he developed his fighting style to become a master. What Bruce did was take the strengths from different Chinese fighting styles—combined them all together added different boxing techniques and came up with a fighting formula that allowed him to not only defend himself but attack his opponent at the same time. Yet the one thing his advisor kept reiterating as Mr. Lee was formulating this Jeet Kune Do (The way of the intercepting fist) technique, was the final step would be to fight himself. Then he would be master.

As I began meditating on how this could help my readers, here is what I grasped. In life, we have various disappointments, challenges, and, all types of things that come up against us. (John 16:33 NKJV) To defend ourselves against these things we have to take them and use them as fuel in order to get to our destinies. The hurt, all of the disappointments, the rejections, the total negative culminations of life that have hurt us we must use as fuel for passion to get to our destinies. And in so doing we are also defending ourselves and deflecting the attacks of the enemy. Yet one enemy still remains—self.

When we learn to be thankful even in the midst of our worst circumstances. (I Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV) When we can give God praise no matter what’s going on in our lives. (Hebrews 13:15 NKJV) We overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11 NKJV) So then we can begin to overcome by the Word of God and the prophetic words He’s spoken over our lives coupled with the testimonies we have of being overcomers by applying God’s word daily to our lives—It gives us a totally different outlook—a new perspective. Because when you begin to use the things that come up against you as fuel for your passion. God brings you up out of the Pit of Disappointments. He brings you up out of the Pit of Depression. He brings you up out of the Pit of Procrastination. It is a process of deliverance from all of those things that have been holding you back from your purpose that now gives you the ability, through Christ, to intercept the enemy’s attack while attacking him at the same time. How? By being of sober spirit, staying alert, and always wearing the whole armor of God. (1 Peter 5:8 NKJV) (Ephesians 6:10-20 NKJV)
When we walk closer to Truth, the Holy Spirit will convict us.
Although you are fighting within yourself you are starting to understand your greatest enemy is within your own mind. You can now understand what the Apostle meant when he said, “For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.” (Romans 7:19-20) When we walk closer to Truth, the Holy Spirit will convict us. We will then see our own shortcomings and pray that God would remove them or help us to overcome them. And the more we allow ourselves to diminish, God will increase within us (I John 4:4 NKJV) and our faith will grow exponentially. (1 John 5:4 NKJV) Through Jesus Christ, the Lord’s mighty strength dwells in us and equips us to overcome the enemy. (Isaiah 41:10-12 NKJV) Thus defending us as we deflect the enemy’s attack. What a mighty God we serve!
May the Blessings of the LORD be with you today and always. Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next week….Blessings and Peace!

I think you hit the nail on the head. We have an ongoing family issue, that on the surface could drive us crazy. But, I keep telling my wife that we not need fight the devil, let God work in his ways and timing and eventually the devil will be vanquished. We have to trust his plan. My wife is not generally a patient woman, but she understands God’s love and his powers.

Friend, the one thing we have to remember is as believers we walk by faith and not by sight. Because what you see may not line up with what God said. “In your patience possess ye your souls.” … But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (Luke 21:19) There is so much in life that God will only teach us through patience. Remind her the devil is already a defeated foe. If she can, have your wife look at these posts: https://rhemalogy.com/2021/06/06/its-not-what-it-looks-like/, https://rhemalogy.com/2021/06/21/sprout-update/ and https://rhemalogy.com/2021/09/05/whats-going-to-happen-after-this/. I pray this gives her some encouragement and helps to increase her faith— if you happen to revisit them I hope these strengthen you too! Blessings and Peace!
