Conclusion
Last week we left the prophet Elijah deep in the wilderness having a meltdown; praying to die — comparing himself to his forefather’s mistakes. (I Kings 19:4 NKJV) Then after being fed by an angel not once but twice, he goes to Horeb the mountain of God where he finds a cave and goes to sleep (1 Kings 19:5-8 NKJV)

Why was he there? Because he forgot who he was and he forgot that God was with him. All because he got a disturbing message from Jezebel. (I Kings 19:1-8 NKJV) Which was nothing more than an empty threat. So he started running for his life looking for a hiding place. And that is how fear attacks our minds — giving us temporary amnesia. We must remember all fear is—False Evidence Appearing Real. But God has a way of reminding us just like He is about to remind Elijah. We are never out of His presence for He is all-seeing and all-knowing. God is omniscient that is why Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (I Kings 19:13 NKJV) God ever pose that question to you?
He knows exactly why you are where you are right now too!

God knew why Elijah was there but wanted Elijah to give Him his take on it…he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.” (I Kings 19:14 NKJV) And believe it or not, He knows exactly why you are where you are right now too! Like Elijah you probably see our country in a real State of Emergency—a spiritual one. You’re probably trying to figure out where are all those who still believe in holiness. Is there anyone left who can truly feel a burden for God’s people? And because of this mindset, perhaps you feel alone and like a misfit. — Elijah sure did and he’d just brought down fire from heaven! True children of God are not supposed to fit a specific mold as predicated by societal standards but are supposed to have the mind of Christ. (Romans 12:2 NKJV) Signs and wonders cannot follow you if you are trying to be a round peg in a round hole!
He told Elijah “Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel…

After Elijah gave God his answer God gave him some instructions to follow. (1 Kings 19:15-17 NKJV) And at the end of those instructions, He told Elijah “Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.” (I Kings 19:18 NKJV) In other words, there are seven thousand going through exactly what you are going through who refuse to take down and compromise God’s word in the midst of a dark and sinful world. They are praying for the blessed hope of a revival. They are crying out between the porch and the altar “Spare Your people, Oh Lord.” (Joel 2:17 NKJV) Among those 7,000 are some true prophets who are not fleecing the people for profits but are true holy oracles of God giving a right now word of instruction and correction that can only be heard by a humble and obedient heart.
God was letting Elijah know although he felt he was the only one bearing this burden he was not alone. Not only was God with him but those who he did not even know or see were with him too.
No matter what you are going through, you are not alone. God is always with us and He will stay with us every step of the way. Just don’t give up. Everything is done in the fullness of time—in God’s timing. We must understand that it is in His timing because there is never a moment in time when God is not sovereign.
Are you one of the 7,000?
