Part I

While working on another blog post for today, for some reason the one I’m about to write was found in an old composition notebook while cleaning my office. This was written circa my husband’s transition. This post is not for everybody. It is for those 7,000.
While cooking breakfast this morning, which is my post-topic moment; the above title popped into my head. At first thought it was a fluke but it just wouldn’t go away. As we prepared for Bobbie’s doctor’s appointment that title kept resonating in my spirit.
Now back home we are sitting at the breakfast bar as I write…
Psalm 1:1-3 says Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Notice that the text reads “And in His law he meditates day and night.” Remember what God told Joshua? “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8 NKJV) Observe in that statement God adds “that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.” Then James comes along and writes “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22 NKJV)
Hint 1: You can’t just do parts of God’s word that are convenient for you—no. Sometimes you may find yourself in the most uncomfortable positions you never thought possible. But that is when you reflect on how you navigated that trial. Did you lose your composure or did you stand on your faith foundation and trust God to bring you through? Did you get the revelation that trial was a new day in which to do, learn and grow, with a strong refusal of allowing temptation to place you in the throes of condemnation?
My mind then reflected back to a time when that Psalm held true in my life. How did I arrive at such a place of blessing that was so amazing my very thoughts were answered before they were spoken? He would take me to a place I’d never been before without GPS—it hadn’t been invented yet—on His leading. People would speak in tongues and I could actually see visions as they spoke and would tell them what they were about to encounter and they would call me to confirm it to be true.
The anointing flowed out of our home onto the driveway into the street where when prayer was given people actually witnessed demons fleeing. They came to our home from everywhere for deliverance and prayer where we were blessed to see the power of the Holy Spirit move and bless them. We didn’t take up offerings or charge—-Jesus didn’t. “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:9 NKJV)
How did I arrive at that place—that secret place? I propose to you that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. And that reward is greater than any tangible thing on this planet…
May the Blessings of the LORD be with you today and always. Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until the conclusion next Sunday…Blessings and Peace!
