This is a repost from two years ago. From time to time in our life battles, we need to be reminded of Who is in those battles with us. And nothing is impossible for Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23 NKJV)

Do you ever stop and think how great the life example is that Jesus gave us? He wore the white flower of a sinless life amid a crooked and perverse generation – As He lived this life, it was the very biography of perfume, the overflow of graciousness, the language of the unuttered, and the amazement of the unseen.

Great are the teachings of Jesus. In His teaching, He gave revelation, not speculations, certainties, not surmises; guidance, not gropings; divine declarations, not human inquiries. According to the scriptures, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” (John 7:46 NKJV) And in His teachings, Jesus leaped across denominational divides, broke down religious barriers, and bridged chasms between the outcast and the saved.

Have you ever considered how great and marvelous are the miracles of Jesus? From the human standpoint, Jesus, a miracle greater than all His miracles, wrought miracles –– making blind men see, deaf men, hear, lepers cleansed, the demon-possessed minds restored, lame men walk, sick folks healed, and the dead live again.  It is one such miracle that helped me to stay the course as a believer.

The doctor’s prognosis was very discouraging.

The story begins when, some years ago, my spiritual mother, Rosa Vickers, had a severe stroke that left her completely paralyzed on the entire right side of her body.  It also took her speech. The doctor’s prognosis was very discouraging. He said she would be a vegetable for the rest of her life.  The family was told that she would never talk or walk again.  Fortunately, doctors are merely practicing physicians, but Jesus Christ is the Great Physician. 

She was placed in a rehabilitation facility where she could get all of the medical attention available to help her recover.  When I called to see how she was doing; the nursing staff said, “as good as can be expected.”  That same day I called her sister Hattie to get the correct address and visiting hours so I could go sit with her. 

That weekend, I went to see her, and to my surprise, many other friends of mine that were in ministry decided to visit her that same day too.  It was like a family reunion.  Many of us had not seen each other for some years. 

One of the ministers began praying for Rosa.

After we finished getting reacquainted, I went to see Rosa, she was lying in her bed in a listless state.  One of the ministers began praying for Rosa. We all began to pray and minister. Then one of the elders, Mother Toombs, laid hands on her.  The next thing I knew Rosa began moving her right hand, then her right arm up and down.  She began speaking; at first with a slurred language and then normally. She then moved her leg off the bed! Even though she was still in bed she began praising God. The happiness of seeing this with my own eyes flooded my heart with joy and I began to shout and praise the Lord! 

Soon after, the station nurse came in to tell us we had to be quiet. She saw that same woman who was a vegetable an hour ago, now having the full faculties of her body.  I think it put her in a state of shock because she backed out of the room quietly and closed the door. 

There was another patient in the room with Rosa that day; she was dying from cancer, and her daughter was visiting with her. When her daughter saw the miracle that happened, she told her mother and her mother asked us to lead her to the Lord in prayer.  We prayed for her too.

After seeing this miracle happen to Rosa and a cancer patient led to the Lord, I felt like the man who was blind from birth, whom Jesus healed in the temple on the Sabbath.  When the Pharisees called Jesus a sinner the blind man said, “Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not; one thing I know that, whereas I was blind, now I see!” (John 9:25 KJV) Who wouldn’t serve a God like that?  On that day my faith was reinforced and I decided to stay on the path as a believer.
