And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. (Genesis 3:8 NKJV) Obviously, God had a relationship with Adam and Eve from the beginning. But when they fell from grace it not only affected them but all of those who came after. They were created to be eternal beings but because of their sin in the Garden of Eden, they now were cursed to die. (Genesis 3:19 NKJV) Just as we too must one day leave this earth. (Ecclesiastes 12:7 NKJV)
But ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 NKJV) Therefore, because God already had a plan from before the foundation of the world was laid he’d already made provisions to once again have a relationship to man through his Son.

Throughout the scriptures, we find instances of this relationship being emphasized…Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” (Matthew 12:3-8 NKJV)
