As I was clearing out all of the old text messages, videos, and audio messages from my cellphone I came across the title for this post. However, before I continue I must include this sidebar from my dear friend CA who is very wise in that he said his New Year’s Day Resolution was to make no resolution.
So as I was deleting my audio messages I came across a reminder of what Jesus said. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” (John 10:17-18 NKJV)

And it occurred to me in that instant that if Jesus laid down his life for us what can we lay down for him? Away with all of these superficial resolutions that we seldom stick to let’s go for accomplishment. To accomplish a thing means to finish or complete it.
What person, place, or thing can you lay down for Christ going into 2024 that will make you a better person in this accomplishment? Remember what Jesus said after his mission…It is finished. (John 19:28-30 NKJV)
Time is ever fleeting my friend and right now it is going fast forward which means none of us has the time to give empty resolutions or place our energies in things that are no benefit for our betterment nor beneficial to the kingdom of God. So again I ask this time with a greater resolve—what person, place, or thing can you lay down for Christ in 2024? And not only lay it down but with determined conviction never pick it up again?
