Have you ever felt a nudge, a whisper, a sense of peace about a decision, even when it didn’t entirely make sense? Perhaps you’ve experienced a series of “coincidences” that seemed too deliberate to be chance. These could be ways God is confirming your steps.
Scripture tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5 NKJV) God desires to guide us, to offer wisdom as we navigate life’s crossroads. Sometimes, this comes through a clear inner conviction. Other times, it’s a gentle affirmation of the path we’re on.
Consider these following signs that God may be confirming your steps:
- Peace that Transcends Circumstances: Despite uncertainty or challenges, you feel an underlying sense of peace about your decision. “… and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 NKJV)
- Recurring Themes: Similar messages or advice from different sources (Scripture, wise counsel, even songs or books) that echo the direction you’re considering.
- Open Doors: Opportunities arise, aligning with the path you sense God leading you down. “I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron.” (Isaiah 45:2 NKJV)
- Affirmation Through Scripture: Specific verses leap out at you, offering guidance and encouragement. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV)
Yet, how can we be certain these signs are from God and not just our own desires or fears? Here are some steps to discern God’s confirmation:
- Pray for Wisdom: Ask God to grant you wisdom and clarity. “ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5 NKJV)
- Seek Wise Counsel: Talk to trusted, spiritually mature advisors. “Plans are established by counsel; By wise counsel wage war.” (Proverbs 20:18 NKJV)
- Wait for Peace: Before acting, ask God for a sense of peace about the decision. This is often the “seal of approval” from God. “… and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 NKJV)
God is eager to guide you, to offer wisdom and peace as you navigate life’s journey. By seeking Him, testing signs against Scripture, and praying for clarity, you can better discern when God is confirming your steps.
Thank you all so much for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
