For the past few weeks every time I sat down at my desk, I kept coming across this title Can You Give The Lord A Yes? For those who have been following me on this journey you know from different posts that I’ve often told or shown that you would find scraps of paper and all sorts of notes on my discombobulated wooden friend that from time to time I use when my writing may seem depleted or writer’s block tries to peep out from under that pile of ideas holding him captive.

But today I want to ask you a question—Have you ever come to a place in your life where you decided to finally buckle down because everything you’ve tried just doesn’t seem to be working? With that decision, you find the struggle to do it is hard. And realization stops you in your tracks and poses a question to you? Do you really know why you are here? Your true purpose? Not what people say you are. Not what present circumstances say you are. Nor what past failures and disappointments are trying to convince you that you are. For it is written I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:10 NKJV)
This morning when I woke up this song “Yes” was ringing in my spirit like an alarm clock. And the first line of the song asks will your heart and soul say yes? Will your spirit still say yes? There is more that I require of thee. Will your heart and soul say yes?
Micah 6:7-8 reads Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Did the thought ever occur to you that one “yes” to the Lord could be the key to opening the door to a new tomorrow? Did the thought cross your mind that one “yes” to the Lord could pivot you in the right direction of your destiny? That one “yes” to the Lord could bring you up out of that pit of disappointments and failures? That one “yes” could give you the strength to come out of your impossibilities?
I was watching a movie yesterday where this nation had become overrun by an evil army and the only way the losing army could win was that something that was given to the princess of that kingdom to save her life had to be given back to save her kingdom. And her words were “There is no love without sacrifice.”
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:24-25 NKJV)
Will you give the Lord a “yes“?
Thank you all so much for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
