While in worship this morning the above title dropped in my spirit. Proverbs 13:22a says “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,“ And there is also a scripture in Proverbs that reads Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 NKJV)
I suppose you are asking what does one text have to do with the other? If the ones this inheritance is left to isn’t raised in the admonition of the Lord how will they be able to wisely manage that inheritance? How many articles have we read where a person’s estate was in some legal battle because the children could not accept the terms of the will and chose to contest it because they wanted the lion’s share?
But if you are akin to the Lion of the Tribe of Judah that part of their inheritance that is left behind will inspire, encourage, and give useful instruction to those who are lost in darkness and groping for a righteous way out.

For the kingdom of God is not about how much money you can accumulate (1 Corinthians 10:33 NKJV), but about how many poor unfortunate souls in this life need a helping hand up. It is about aiding and restoring mankind back to its original state that was lost in the Garden. It’s about restoring those poor unfortunate souls.
I remember reading a magazine article that in a statement said “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Remember the lesson Jesus taught them after they’d toiled all night and had empty nets? (Luke 5:5 NKJV)
In this restoration, one is not looking for some tax shelter or ego booster. It is not about granting you the power to lord over the less fortunate because of the money you have or the gifts you possess. There is only one LORD over all. Is it not written There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Ephesians 4:4-6)

Lastly, it is not about us bloggers and influencers having thousands of followers if those followers are not following the Word into the kingdom of God. For it is also written If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. (John 12:26 NKJV)
So as we take to our keyboards, social media campaigns, or whatever means we are using to reach the masses; let’s be mindful that the foremost motive in the back of our minds is to bring God glory and not man. We may not be perfect but let us strive for continuity in the faith. And in so doing leave a righteous inheritance behind that will continue to bless others long after we’re gone.
Thank you all so much for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
