Once upon a time, in a vast ocean, a tiny droplet of water named Rainy felt an inexplicable restlessness. Unlike his fellow droplets, content with their existence, Rainy yearned for adventure. He dreamed of experiencing the world beyond the ocean’s boundaries.

One day, the warm sun shone down upon Rainy. As he evaporated, rising into the air as water vapor, he felt an exhilarating sense of freedom. He cooled and condensed, merging with other droplets to form a cloud. Within the cloud, Rainy met a wise old droplet named Clint. “Where are we headed?” Rainy asked anxiously. Clint replied, “We’ll travel with the wind until we’re too heavy to remain suspended. Then, we’ll fall as rain.”
As Clint predicted, the droplets soon grew too heavy. Rainy plummeted towards the earth, his heart pounding. The rush of the fall was terrifying, yet thrilling. He hit the ground with a tiny splash. Rainy found himself in a puddle on a bustling city street. The world was so different from the peaceful ocean. He marveled at the towering buildings and the humans rushing to and fro.
As the sun came out, Rainy evaporated again. He rose into the air, ready to begin a new cycle. This time, he cooled and condensed on a mountain peak, forming part of a shimmering layer of frost. Eventually, Rainy melted and flowed down the mountain as part of a babbling brook. He traveled through the countryside, passing by lush green forests and rolling hills.
The brook emptied into a wide river, and Rainy floated along, taking in the sights. He met fish and other aquatic creatures, learning about their lives. The river wound its way back to the ocean, and Rainy rejoined his fellow droplets. He was home, but he was different now. He had experienced the incredible journey of a raindrop.
Rainy realized that his adventure had taught him to appreciate his existence. He had seen the world and understood the vital role he played in the water cycle. From then on, he felt content, but he never lost his sense of wonder.
Many things we go through in life are lessons to strengthen our faith, and character and increase wisdom, but most of all to teach us to have a grateful heart. Which was a lesson Rainy had to learn. When we truly consider the gravity of our existence our restlessness will turn into peace. As the apostle so eloquently put it “I have learned in whatsoever state I am in therewith to be content” (Philippians 4:11). Thank you all so much for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
