The other day I was watching this movie where the main character, Nanase, had gone through great lengths to become a nurse and in one episode she was walking down the street and was suddenly grabbed by this character, Kamijo, who was trying to breakup with his girlfriend and randomly grabbed Nanase to get him out of his pressing situation which caused our main character to end up with ice tea all over her face and clothes.
He reimbursed her for this imposition. She bought fresh clothes and offered to pay him back but he wouldn’t take the money. As Nanase was trying to depart his company he kept insisting she stay. Nanase told him she already had a boyfriend she was committed to but somehow he still managed to entice her with a candy apple—sound familiar?

Anywho, in their conversation she told him that her boyfriend was this amazing heart surgeon. To which Kamijo replied, “I don’t like him” with a devilish smile. She said that her boyfriend the doctor apparently knew they were not a good match for a million years. He told her, “So just become someone that’s good enough for him.” She agreed and told him he was right—then exclaimed, “I forgot I am the warrior!” As Nanase walked away she dropped her hospital badge—he gentlemanly picked it up and gave it to her.

What she didn’t know—this social jester kept that information in his head and the next thing she knows her head nurse has her going into this VIP room in the hospital where he just happens to popup as the new cardiology patient who asks the head nurse if Nanase can be his personal nurse which somewhat upsets her boyfriend, Dr. Tendo, to who she explained the circumtances of their meeting.

Kamijo was one of the wealthiest young men in Japan due to his father’s retail empire and he was always used to buying things and people. The only reason he came to the hospital was to try and convince Nanase to leave her doctor boyfriend and come away with him. He went to such great lengths even to sue Dr. Tendo with misconduct to get Nanase to succumb to his proposition. He tells her “come go with me I can give you anything—take you anywhere—choose me and I’ll drop the lawsuit.”
In her decision she chose to leave her job and Dr. Tendo to go back to her hometown. I suppose you’re wondering what the point of this little story is…
In that decision she didn’t compromise her position. And when Kamijo gave her that ultimatum I began searching myself and asking how many of us would have entertained that offer or chose to stand on the word of God totally trusting Him for the outcome. What would you do? Would your purpose and moral standards kick in as a Christian warrior or would you do an Eve?

These are the types of choices we must make daily. Always remember, No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV)
