Have You Forgotten Who You Are?

Last week, while cleaning my office, I came across some of my old notebooks and found this title in one of them. This post is dedicated to the traveler in life who is treading on the beach of Oblivion.

Some of us have been beaten up or down for so long by life’s circumstances that it’s caused us to have a temporary case of spiritual amnesia concerning who we are. Especially, as it pertains to who we are as children of God.

Spiritual amnesia refers to to tendency for persons to forget or disregard the spiritual truths, experiences, and promises that have shaped their faith journey. This forgetfulness can lead to a diminished connection with God, a reliance on self rather than faith, and a departure from a life that reflects one’s spiritual commitments. It may be common to the human condition, but is one that can be overcome through intentional remembrance and reflection. (Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV)

When the enemy has bombarded you with all types of weaponry from his arsenal of darkness, trying to deceive you in your mind that there is no way you can win, sometimes you find yourself swathed in darkness to the point you start losing yourself and some pieces of your armor in this fierce battle.

It is here in this place that you must remember who and whose you are. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (I Peter 2:9 NKJV)—this is who you are. “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV)—This is whose you are.

Remember, God never loses sight of us, not for one moment.  “And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” (John 6:39 KJV)

In other words…We, as children of the Most High, have a secure and lasting relationship with Christ, and God’s will is for none of those given to Him to be lost. He’ll even leave the ninety-nine for the one. (Luke 15:4-7 NKJV)

So when you seem to have forgotten who you are or whose you are—Please remember, our Father knows these things for sure. Pick up that armor and put it back on! This battle is far from over, and we know who wins in the end!

For it is written…The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Revelation 20:10 NKJV)

Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
