Friday morning, when I woke up, I thanked God for the day and believed Him to bring me, my family, and friends to a safe and blessed end that day.— This was my prayer.
The song I would later listen to was “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey. I realize this is a secular song, but it encouraged me to the point that I sought to find out how many times the word ‘believe’ is in the Holy Scriptures.
Did you know the King James Version (KJV) contains approximately 143 verses that contain the word “believe” and its variations? The New American Standard Version (NASB) contains approximately 266 verses that include the words “believe,” “belief,” or “believes”. The New International Version (NIV) uses “believe” in about 160 verses.

Many of us are familiar with this text—“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NKJV) However, to truly believe this text, we must also believe Hebrews 11:6. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29 NKJV)
And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. (John 20:30-31 NKJV)
I know, sometimes it seems like everyone is growing and going but you. Stop for a moment and focus on the things that have been good and uplifting in your life. Don’t stop believing!

To the many of us who are tired of goofing up and making mistakes, no one is perfect but Jesus. Even when we strive to achieve perfection, sometimes we will fall short of the goal. Because in a particular lesson, the end result of our endeavors is humility. In this place, you are learning to lean on God and put your trust in His leading. Don’t stop believing!

Beloved, you see it’s not about how many times the word believe is written on the pages of the Word, but it’s about how many times the word believe is written on the pages of our hearts and minds. The whole point is to keep moving forward and not looking back or going back. With the revelation, the very presence of the God you believed in really changed you. Here you will finally be able to believe with knowing that you’ve not only been changed, but also healed, freed, and delivered. There you will discover joy, peace, grace, and favor. Then you will know that your believing would not have been in vain.
“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.” (Isaiah 43:10 NKJV) Don’t stop believing!
Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
